What it is

EIPOD-LinC ("Exploring Life in Context") is EMBL's interdisciplinary postdoctoral fellowship. Projects span two or more fields and involve two EMBL group leaders, or one EMBL group leader plus a Member State partner (academia, industry or clinic). It's a salaried fellowship under an EMBL employment contract with the full EMBL benefits package (social security, family and child allowances, training, travel support to partner labs).

Who is eligible

Open to all nationalities. You must hold a PhD by the call deadline; a defended-but-not-yet-awarded thesis qualifies. A maximum of eight years of research experience since the PhD is permitted; time outside research and career breaks don't count. Prior EMBL association must not exceed 12 months in the three years before the deadline.

What you'll need

A project proposal on the official template (formatting and page limits are eligibility conditions), your CV, two reference letters from institutional email addresses, and a Horizon Europe ethics self-assessment. Applications are in English, reviewed by three external experts on excellence, impact and implementation.

Deadlines

The latest call closed in February 2026. The next call is expected around early 2027 (dates to be confirmed by EMBL).
